More Boxy Pouches

This weekend, I finished 5 more bags, in the boxy pouch style. 10 bags down, 40 to go!

The Etsy Project

A lot of people ask me if I have an Etsy shop. I used to answer that no way was I good enough. And yes, I have a lot of progress still to make, but I'm feeling more and more ready. I don't see it as a way to support myself, but more a way to support my sewing habit! If I'm really successful, it will mean more pocket money, which is always good.

So my business plan has begun. I've decided I need to have a good-sized stash of stuff before I can begin, because it can't all be custom orders. I decided on 10 styles of bag I'd like to sell, and thought I should make 10 of each. Then I started with the first style (boxy pencil cases) and quickly decided, "hey, how about just five of each?" So that's my goal. When I have 50 pouches made, I will then look into Etsy! (And while I'm in the sewing phase, I will have time to record dimensions, write descriptions, i.e. get everything ready so I can set up with Etsy pretty quickly.)

So here's the first installment: 5 boxy pencil cases.
